A novice Monk in Sittwe, Myanmar, prays from a well used prayer book in his monastery. The traditions of Buddhism are upheld very strongly today in Myanmar, and monks pray throughout the day to honour the teachings of the Buddha. I was lucky to be welcomed into this monastery while exploring the area, and was treated with generous hospitality. After eating some food with the head abbot monk, I was privileged to witness prayer time when all the monks find a space and sit down to read aloud from their prayer books.
